Creating Clothing for models in Zbrush

A quick way to create clothing using the Extract tool in Zbrush.
This is very, very simple. Simply mask off the area you wish to create clothing for using CTRL and painting on the mask onto the model (you can use ‘lazy mouse’ by holding ‘L’ key and that will give your strokes a straighter line where necessary).
To extract, go to Sub Tools, and down the bottom, move the thickness slider to something suitable (higher will make thicker mesh) and hit ‘Extract’. Select your new sub-tool and paint over the more organic areas of the clothing to kind of blur the skin features a bit and smooth etc. as per normal.
Use the inflate tool to pull out certain sections and things. Nifty little tool area.
To add detail, mask off the rest of the sub-tool and then CTRL-ALT to deselect the portions of the mask you wish to adjust and then pull/push it in and out to suit your needs. Inflate and clay brush are good for this.
Using the ‘re-topology’ option to make the mesh match up with the new topology you create.
A nice quick little video outlining these skills is shown below:
