Sculpt Tool:

Hold B-key and drag to adjust brush size.

Hold M-key and drag to adjust strength of the brush

Falloffs – adjust this to alter the sharpness of the brush etc.

Holding ‘shift’ while using a tool will smooth.

Holding ‘CTRL’ will reverse the brush so if you are pulling out, it will push in.

Usually you want to do as much detail as you can at lower poly and then as you move up, do the more detailed/finer detail.

Bulge tool – good for musculature and things like that.

Drag tool will pull geometry around

Slice tool – good for adding definition at higher res – gouge out some lines to create this extra detail.

Steady Stroke – used to get a good straight line when making stokes – rather than free handing it..

Wax tool – used to build geometry up or ‘add’ material to your geometry. Good for blocking in detail as you can layer on detail quickly.

For all sculpting, you can generally be a bit rough initially and then smooth aand only worry about being careful when cutting out or adding fine detail.

Stamps and Stencils:

Used to add in details/texture etc. The ‘distance’ modifier is good for spreading out where the detail goes.

Stencils:

S to move the stencil around  and drag to rotate/move etc. Right mouse and middle mouse do stuff. You then sculpt THROUGH the stencil to apply the material on the stencil onto your model.
